Summer Time Sadness

Summer is by far my favorite season of the year. It is the time of year most celebrated by students. It is the time to be crazy, reckless and carry no worries. I absolutely love the warmth of the sun on my skin and the heated summer nights. I engulf myself in continual amounts of adventures and memories. By the time School begins to roll around I start to feel the summer time sadness because my fun and relaxation are coming to a depressing end.

In Lana Del Rey's music video, Summer Time Sadness, she expresses her emotions towards her memorable summer and about how her summertime lover had to leave since the summer was ending. I can relate to this in a similar way with the fact that all of my best memories come from summertime. I always have the time of my life during summer and feel a heavy withdrawal when I have to leave it all behind. Many people may say that I can just look forward to having the same fun the following summer, which is true, yet not all of the same people will be in my life by then. 

I associate summer most strongly with the beach. The beach is probably, in my opinion the best place to go during the summer. When I was very little, I used to visit my grandparents in New York very often before they moved out to Colorado. They used to live about a block away from the beach so my family and I would got there almost everyday. Some of my happiest childhood memories reside in my visits to my grandparents and spending time with them by the beach. Many years later my family and I took a trip to the west coast and I went surfing for the first time with my Dad. I had the time of my life and I know that that trip with always remain to be one of my best vacations and memories.
