My Best Experience

Throughout my life so far I have loved and lost, experienced many horrors and celebrations, and found out who I am and what I want for myself in the future. Through all of this, narrowing all of my best life moments down to one, I'd have to say that surfing for the first time was my biggest accomplishment and favorite memory. For a few years I've always found an interest in surfing, however Colorado doesn't have a beach so that was a bit of a predicament when I wanted to learn. Finally, my parents booked a vacation in San Diego for a week and that's when I knew that I would get my chance. When we got there the first thing I wanted to do was go surfing. So my Dad signed me up for a lesson and off I went. Surprisingly enough, I found it quite easy. I can just recall my happiness when I stood up for the first time on the board. I've never been so excited to finally do something that I've been dreaming of for so long. For the rest of that vacation I spent it at the beach and surfed with my Dad.
This is the biggest wave that has ever been surfed by anyone so far. I chose this video of Shawn Dollar to illustrate my big aspirations in life. I don't ever plan to surf any wave nearly as big as this but I do have the desire to at least be somewhat decent.

Everyone seems to have some sort of passion. For some people its bike riding or playing basketball. For others it may be running or lifting weights. For me I feel like surfing is my way letting it all go. I relate surfing with the feelings of happiness, relaxation, and freedom and that is how I feel when I actually go surfing and when I watch other people go surfing. I know that for now surfing will have to be a vacation type of activity since I'll be focusing on College and won't even have a beach nearby. My future plans are to someday live near a beach and be able to surf whenever I feel like I want to.
